Intersectional facilitator Zakiya Mabery is a Black woman who openly shares about her disabilities. She has more than 15 years’ experience in human capital management and specializes in diversity, equity and inclusion. Experience in both the federal government and the private sector for Fortune 500 companies gives her a unique perspective. This session explores the practices, language, attitudes and stereotypes that have an impact on individuals with disabilities. As students, faculty, professionals, employers, and coworkers, how we speak, think and feel about individuals with disabilities can affect our interactions and decisions.
