Speaker Bio
After starting her career as an elementary school art teacher in the Normandy School District, Jennifer came to Jennings Senior High School and started building up the art program of both JSH and the Jennings School District. In her twenty-two years of devoted teaching, Jennifer has been celebrated by both her district, as the 2015 Teacher of the Year and the District Fine Arts coordinator, and by her department at JSH, who has grown with her as the Fine and Practical Arts Department Chair.

Jennifer has built many programs for JSH and for the district, including JSH’s annual prom, the Families in Need Holiday Project, the annual Senior Art Fair, as well as a multitude of mural and beautification projects for the schools. Jennifer teaches JSH’s dual enrollment animation classes which provide high-level opportunities for students and develops ties between the district, local universities, and the professional animation company, Lion Forge.

Jennifer has also received recognition from outside her district and has been awarded the 2018 National Midwest Region Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award for Making IT Happen in the Artroom. Jennifer has a Master’s in Art Education from Lindenwood University and owns a professional painting business, Studio JK. When not hard at work mentoring students and teachers, Jennifer does custom painting and murals for homes and business in the St. Charles County area. Jennifer loves to relax by camping and fishing with her family and spending time with her grandparents.
